WHAT IS BOT TALK?
What is BoT Talk, exactly?
BoT Talk is a screen-free communication device for children. It lets parents stay connected through location updates and voice messaging—without the distractions of a smartphone. Kids get independence; parents get peace of mind.
How does BoT Talk enable screen-free communication?
Your child is always just one button away. You can see where they are throughout the day and exchange voice messages whenever you need to—all without a screen. For your child, there are no apps to open, no texts to type—just simple connection.
How is BoT Talk different from giving my child a phone?
BoT Talk is designed only for communication and location sharing. There are no apps, games, social media, or internet browsing—just the connection you need, without the distractions you don't.
Who has access to my child?

Who can see my child's location?
Only you, and the people you personally approve in the app. No one else can access your child's information.
Can strangers contact my child?
No. Only you, the account owner, can approve who has access to BoT Talk. Your child can only exchange messages with people you've invited and approved.
How often is my child's location updated?
BoT Talk updates your child's location approximately every 90 seconds, providing regular updates throughout the day.
What will this cost me?

Are there any hidden fees?
No. You pay for the device and a monthly plan: $4.99 (GPS Only) or $6.99 (GPS + Talk), plus tax. No activation fees, no surprise charges.
What's the difference between the two monthly plans?
We offer two plans:
- GPS Only ($4.99/month): Unlimited location updates
- GPS + Talk ($6.99/month): Unlimited location updates plus unlimited voice messaging
Do I need a separate cellular contract?
No. BoT Talk has a built-in SIM card. You do not need a contract with any mobile carrier, and there are no activation fees.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel anytime through the app—no annual contracts or penalty fees. However, once canceled, the device cannot be reactivated. If you need a break, we recommend switching to the more affordable “GPS Only” plan instead.
What's the setup process like?

Is BoT Talk easy to set up?
Yes. The app guides you through each step:
- Download the BoT Talk app
- Follow the step-by-step guide to create your account, register the device, and activate your plan
- Start using BoT Talk
The entire process takes about 5 minutes.
What do I need to get started?
You'll need:
- A smartphone: iPhone (iOS 15.6 or later, iPhone 6s and newer) or Android (OS 5.0 or later). Not sure if your phone works? Quickly check if you can download the app here.
- A credit or debit card: Visa, Mastercard, or American Express only. Discover, prepaid, and gift cards are not accepted.
- A USB-C charging cable: Not included—we've left it out to reduce waste.

How will this work in real life?

How does my child send and receive messages?
- To listen: Your child presses the button once to hear your message
- To send: They press and hold the button while speaking, then release to send
Voice messages are delivered via cellular network and typically take about 1 minute, depending on signal strength.
How accurate is the location?
Location accuracy varies from a few feet to about 330 feet, depending on signal strength and environment. BoT Talk updates location approximately every 90 seconds.
How long does the battery last?
Battery life depends on your plan and usage.
- GPS Only plan: up to 1 month
- GPS + Talk plan: up to 2 weeks
Like your smartphone, battery drains faster in areas with weak signal or with heavy use. The app notifies you when it's time to charge.
Is BoT Talk waterproof?
BoT Talk is splash-proof and dustproof (IP55). It can handle rain and splashes, but should not be submerged in water.
Can I add more people to help monitor my child?
Yes. You can invite as many people as you'd like—grandparents, caregivers, or trusted friends. They simply download the app and scan the device to request access. Once you approve them, they can monitor your child at no extra cost.
